The Physics Society of the Department of Physics is formed annually, consisting of MSc students and a teacher in charge, who together with organizes a variety of programs each year. In the academic year 2023-2024, the Physics Society at the Institute of Science, Nagpur, curated a wide range of events designed to spark scientific curiosity and foster career growth among students. The year began with a program on "Career Opportunities in Physics," where experts like Dr. R. M. Shewale shared insights on various career paths in the field, offering students inspiration through personal anecdotes. The Society also highlighted the remarkable achievements of young scientists such as Miss Saniya Karemore, who made strides in asteroid detection, and celebrated the historic landing of Chandrayaan-3 through a live stream event.
The Physics Society’s efforts extended beyond lectures and events which encouraging collaboration and exploration of emerging scientific fields. Guest speakers such as Dr. G. Shrinivasan discussed advancements in satellite technologies at ISRO, while Dr. Nikita Daga and Mridu Kalita shared their entrepreneurial journeys in the field of laser technology.
