Dr. Anjali M. Rahatgaonkar
Professor in Chemistry.

❖ Twenty five years of teaching, research leadership and research project management and 10 years administrative experience.
❖ Pioneered in establishment of Institute of Forensic Science, Nagpur.
❖ Developed novel synthetic routes/processes and successful implementation of technology in tailoring new hybrid molecules.
❖ Expertise in diverse areas of organic synthesis (Discovery Research & Process Development): modern synthetic organic techniques and transformations.
❖ Extensive work on synthetic Flavanoids, Pyrimidines, Chalcones, Isoxazolines, Pyrazolines, Quinolines, Azetidinones, Thiazoles, Thiazines, Azides etc.
❖ Strong background in synthetic organic chemistry, expertise in small molecule designing and development. Evaluated highly specific biologically active chemical probes with QSAR studies.
❖ Executed parallel synthesis with novel techniques including Computer Aided Drug Designing.
❖ Engineered dry media reactions, Microwave induced reactions, Ionic liquid reactions, and Biphasic reactions.
❖ Research work with eminent chemists: Prof B. J. Ghiya, Dr Mukund S. Chorghade.

Recognized research supervisor of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. Ph. D. degree awarded to 10 research students. 02 research students are working at present. Worked on two major research projects funded by Govt. of India. Also working on greening process in synthesis of known drug molecules.
